With the most popular type of equity release plan, a lifetime mortgage you could maintain 100% ownership of your home. You could access tax-free cash either as a lump sum or smaller amounts over time and could release from a minimum of £10,000 up to 58% of the value of your home.
How much you could release depends on the value of your home, the age of the youngest homeowner, if you’re a single or joint applicant and your individual needs.
It’s important to get advice before proceeding with equity release to help you understand if it’s right for you, or if another option such as downsizing could be more suitable.

Equity release may involve a lifetime mortgage, secured against your property, or a home reversion plan. It will reduce the value of your estate and impact funding long-term care. Age Partnership+ advise on lifetime mortgages only.
It is a condition of equity release that any existing outstanding mortgage must first be repaid. Any money you release, plus accrued interest, is repaid when you die or move into long-term care.
Initial advice is provided for free and without obligation. Only if your case completes would an advice fee of £1,995 be payable. Other lender and solicitor fees may apply.
